High Efficiency Urinals The High-Efficiency Urinal (HEU) has been part of the North American plumbing fixture marketplace for more than 15 years. The HEU is a fixture that flshes at 0.5 gpf/1.9 Lpf or less, a threshold that is 50% of the current maximum mandated by the federal Energy Policy Act of 1992. Facility owners and specifiers who prefer conventional flush valves are looking for ways to decrease water usage without giving up any performance advantages. By introducing The Efficiency Series, Sloan has taken the leadership position in bringing new, high-efficiency technologies to the marketplace. Today, Sloan offers models that flush at 0.5 gpf/1.9 Lpf and below, with some utilizing as little as a pint of water (0.5 liters). |

High-Efficiency Toilets The High-Efficiency Toilet (HET) is a fixture that flushes at 1.28 gpf/4.8 Lpf or less, which is 20% below the 1.6 gpf/6.0 Lpf maximum. The HET category includes dual-flush fixtures. The 20 percent reduction threshold seves as a metric for water authorities and municipalities designing more aggressive toilet replacement programs. Currently, 23 different toilet manufacturers are marketing more than 200 such models of fixtures. Sloan offers 'Fixture Packages' designed to outperform their 1.6 gpf predecessors AND the 3.5 gpf toilets that were installed in the 1980s. |
